Eating foods that support the body is essential for optimal health. Including superfoods daily is a good foundation for a healthy diet. These foods are high in nutrition containing vitamins, minerals, polyphenols, and antioxidants that your body needs. In addition, they are low in fat, high in fiber and are anti-inflammatory.

Here is a list of convenient superfoods for everyday. They are inexpensive and can be found easily at the grocery store.

Berries are a good choice for low sugar fruits. Berries are loaded with antioxidants and polyphenols. They reduce inflammation, boost immunity, and prevent oxidation. There are many studies supporting their anti-cancer effects. Spinach ​Spinach is loaded with vitamins and minerals and is a good source of iron, calcium, chlorophyll, and omega 3 fatty acids. There are benefits to both raw and cooked spinach. So enjoy it either way. Cruciferous Vegetables ​Onions, garlic, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and brussels sprouts are some of the amazing plants that make up the cruciferous family of vegetables. They are also packed with fiber, vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals. They are known for their cancer fighting properties. Studies show consuming cruciferous vegetables lowers your risk for cancer. Avocados Avocados are a good source of potassium, vitamin E and chlorophyll and fiber. They are rich in monounsaturated fats and essential fatty acids including beneficial plant sterols. They are also a great source of protein and contain all essential amino acids. They are also full of alkalizing minerals that are crucial in neutralizing acids. Flax Seeds ​Flax seeds are a source of protein and healthy fat. They contain most of the essential amino acids and they contain high amounts of omega 3 fatty acids needed for brain health. They are also a good source of fiber, vitamins and minerals. Studies show that these seeds have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and neuroprotective properties. Lentils Lentils are a good source of complex carbohydrates, fiber and protein. A half cup of beans has roughly 7 grams of protein which is the same as an ounce of meat, but without the saturated fat and cholesterol. Lentils contain vitamins, minerals, plant sterols and phytates. Plant sterols are heart protective and protect against cancer. Sprouts Sprouts are full of vitamins and minerals and they are a good source of protein. They are living plant foods that transfer their life force energy to you. They are rich in B vitamins including vitamin B12. Lemons, Limes and Grapefruit These low sugar fruits are good source of vitamins and minerals including vitamin C. While these fruits are acidic outside the body, inside the body they are alkalizing. They contain sodium and potassium bicarbonate salts which are alkalizing to the body. Studies have shown that these sour fruits have anti-cancer properties. Increase your nutrition just by adding lemon or lime to your water.
