It is so simple and easy to make your own almond milk. Fresh almond milk is not only more delicious, but it is more nutritious and free of fillers and thickeners that you find in store bought milks. This super simple recipe is easy and delicious. Once you make your own you will not want to buy store bought almond milk anymore.

1 1/4 cup of almonds (soaked overnight)

2-3 dates (soaked for a few hours)

5 cups water

2 dashes of cinnamon

1 nut milk bag

Place almonds in a bowl and fully cover the almonds with clean filtered water. Cover the bowl and let almonds soak overnight up to 24 hours. Change the water half way through if going for 24 hours. Soak dates in some water for 15 minutes or until soft. Once almonds and dates are ready place into a blender. Pour in 5 cups of water and cinnamon and thoroughly blend. Next place a milk bag in a bowl or large measuring cup. Pour milk from the blender into the bag and strain the liquid by squeezing it through the bag. You can repeat this step until you have strained all the milk. You can empty the almond pulp anytime throughout this process if you like. Pour your filtered milk into a glass jar or container to store.

If you are in the mood for chocolate or strawberry milk, you can add cocoa or strawberries for a treat. Use this homemade almond milk for recipes, smoothies and more or just to enjoy a nice glass of milk.
